How to Remove Very Tough Hard Water Stains
Hard water can really do a number on toilets by leaving a tough build-up of limescale that is often incredibly hard to get rid of. You have probably heard of using vinegar and baking soda or Borax and baking soda to get rid of stains and limescale, but what happens when that just doesn’t cut it?
When this happens, the next step you can try for stubborn hard water stains is making a Borax paste. For this to work however you will need to shut the water off to the toilet and flush the toilet to drain the bowl.
You can make the Borax paste by mixing ½ cup of Borax and just enough vinegar to create a thick paste. Spread the paste over all of the hard water toilet stains quickly before the paste hardens. Allow paste to sit for 15-20 minutes then scrub off with a stiff-bristled nylon brush and flush the toilet to rinse.
Using a Borax paste can be the next step to trying to rid your toilet of stubborn hard water stains.
